- Anorexia Nervosa : This is an unhealthy fear of putting on weight. People suffering from Anorexia Nervosa refuse to maintain a healthy weight and don't have a very realistic image of what a healthy body looks like. People suffering fro this eating disorder will limit what they eat. The problem is that this results in poor food choices and basically starving the body, which can result in some serious health side effects including organ failure, bone loss, infertility, brain damage and heart problems. If you don't manage your disorder eating this disease can kill you, so it's not something to be taken lightly or ignored.
- Bulimia Nervosa : This is different to Anorexia Nervosa, in that a person suffering from Bulimia Nervosa will binge eat what they want and then force themselves to vomit in order to get rid of the food in the fear that they are going to put on weight. The problem with this is that it's a nasty cycle that is very hard to break. Often this is done in private and no one knows what the person is going through. This disease also causes serious health side effects from dehydration and gastrointestinal problems to heart difficulties and tooth problems.
- Binge Eating : This disease differs from the first two disorder eating habits. With binge eating the person will binge on food in private but they will not vomit to get rid of it, in fact most people who suffer with binge eating are obese or drastically overweight as a result. The problems with this is the risk of Type 2 Diabetes is dramatically increased along with cardiovascular problems. In most instances anyone suffering from binge eating disorders suffer from embarrassment and guilt as a result.
